Para Tana Lot is translated as a floating temple in the sea. - A temple worshiping the Hindu water god Varuna. Located on the southwest coast of Bali, 30 km west of Denpasar. This temple is on a small island a short distance from the shore. It is believed that in the 16th century, a Hindu traveler named Dang Hiang Nirartha came across a beautiful rocky island and rested here. He established the temple here at the request of the fishermen living on the island. The temple's mythology informs Bali's history.
