Para Tana Lot is translated as a floating temple in the sea. - A temple worshiping the Hindu water god Varuna. Located on the southwest coast of Bali, 30 km west of Denpasar. This temple is on a small island a short distance from the shore. It is believed that in the 16th century, a Hindu traveler named Dang Hiang Nirartha came across a beautiful rocky island and rested here. He established the temple here at the request of the fishermen living on the island. The temple's mythology informs Bali's history. People around the temple believe that the temple is guarded by a giant snake made from Dong Hyang's robes.
