Raja Sawai Pratap Singh built this Hawa Mahal in 1799. There are 953 sashless windows in this mahal. Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal has been set up in Man Sagar artificial lake of Jaipur city. From a distance it looks like a single storey but it is a five storey building. Maharaja Pratap Singh built Jal Mahal in 1799. Pratap Singh built an artificial lake in the middle of the mountain to escape the fierce fire and built a palace in it. It has a rooftop garden. The beauty of Jalmahal has to be appreciated from a distance. Because so far ordinary tourists are not allowed to enter.
City Palace
There is a saying in Bengali, "Swa-ser over ser". The word Sawai in Hindi means Swaya. In other words, the king who has 100 times more talent than ordinary people would get the title of Sawai. Similarly Raja Sawai Pratap Singh got this title. Pratap Singh built many artistic structures in Jaipur. City Palace is one of them. A little further from Hawa Mahal is the City Palace. Raja Sawai Pratap Singh lived on the 7th floor of this white marble palace. The seven floors now house museums, art galleries, horse-drawn chariots, palanquins, cannons, jewelry, royal costumes, etc. The City Palace has four entrances corresponding to the four seasons that were used during the four seasons.
