The valley located in the middle of the Himalayas is called Kashmir. The northernmost state of South Asia, Kashmir is called the paradise of the earth. The unique gathering of pine trees, the scent of saffron flowers, the sight of cherry blossoms, the snow covered valleys are nowhere else in the world arranged so neatly. Mughal emperor Jahangir said that if there is heaven on earth, it is Kashmir. The natural beauty of Kashmir is so eye-catching that one who has visited once has a direct view of the scene.



                                                                             Sonmarg


The word Sonmarg means gold covered path. Sonmarg is about 80 km north east from Srinagar. One of the important places in Kashmir. Among the places to visit in Sonmarg, Jajilapas, Thasiwas are very beautiful.




                                                                          Pehellam


Pehellam is another must visit place in Kashmir. It is very difficult to find a tourist who has not been to Pehellam in Kashmir. The distance from Sonmarg to Pehellam is about 8 km. Pehellam's natural beauty and climate are all perfect for sightseeing. Pehellam has Leader River, Pehellam Valley, Betab Valley, Aru Valley, Chandanwari, Pehellam View Point etc. Horses are available here for traveling to different places. A lot of apples and saffron are cultivated in Pehellam. Distance from Srinagar to Pehellam is 96 km. Pehellam belongs to Antanag district.


Gulmarg


Gulmarg is located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir which is only 8 km from the Pakistan border. Gulmarg can be visited in one day from Srinagar. Distance from Srinagar to Kashmir is only 56 km. There is snow in Gulmarg throughout the year so the number of tourists is there throughout the year. Among the attractions in Gulmarg are Gondola Ride, Afarwat Peak, Khilanmarg, Baba Reshi Shrine, St. Mary's Church etc.


Srinagar


Srinagar was built in the 6th century AD in the basin of river Kilan. Srinagar is the summer capital of Kashmir. Srinagar is an ideal place to stay for those traveling to Kashmir. Because from Srinagar one can easily travel to different parts of Kashmir. Dal Lake, Shankaracharya Temple, Pari Mahal are some of the places to visit in Srinagar. Dallek is formed by three parts Lakutidal, Baradal, Gagribal. The water extent of Dal Lake extends up to 26 km. Another important point is that the necessary hotels are built around the Dal Lake.


Good time to travel


The form of Kashmir varies in different seasons. So if one wants to experience the full form of Kashmir one has to travel at least three times. But if one wants to go once or first time then first week of April will be the best time.

Ladakh Ladakh is a favorite destination for adventure and thrill loving people. But it is good to say that all types of people will like Ladakh. But it is better to prepare at least a month before traveling to Ladakh. Because Ladakh is situated at an altitude of about 11,500 feet above the plain. One should visit here to solve breathing problem, lung infection, heart disease, altitude related problem etc. Birds found in the Tibetan Plateau are found in Ladakh. But some special species of birds are seen here which are not found anywhere else. Among the spring birds, various species of Tuti, Robin, Red Girdi, Gangchil etc. are seen. There are also Nubra Chali, Leh town, Khardu La Pass, Pangong Lake etc. The last scene of the movie Three Diyot was shot at Pangong Lake.
